Welcome to Language Science!

Our Program:  Our classes use a curriculum called Take Flight.  It was developed by Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children(TSRHC).  The curriculum was developed for dyslexic children to enable them to achieve and maintain better word recognition, reading fluency, and comprehension.  Take Flight offers practice in phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension. 

Our class sizes are small.  When possible, the number of students is limited to six or less.  We meet daily for 45 minutes.  The work we do is very systematic - a specific order to what is presented.  It is also multi-sensory - meaning students use their auditory, visual, and kinesthetic senses to access learning.  Students who are identified as dyslexic will typically be in the program two to three years depending on the individual needs of the student.
