About Terry Billups

Welcome to  a new school year.

We are really excited about this new year!

A little about me:

I was born in California, raised in Europe, and came back to the United States for my college years.  I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Education from Southern Methodist University.  Later, I received my Master of Science in Education from Texas A&M Commerce and then went to Texas Woman's University to get my Principalship.

I have taught for 22 years, primarily in elementary school and some in middle school.  For the most part, I instructed talented and gifted children kindergarten through 7 grades, although I have also taught math, self-contained 4th and 5th grades, and middle school language arts and reading.

I have been in administration for the past 10 years; this is my 5th year as principal of VAE.

As a teacher of the talented and gifted, I would stress for the children to study their passions.  So, a little about my passions:

Besides loving children and education, I love animals, nature, reading, snowy days with a fire going in the fireplace, autumn leaves, traveling with my husband, visiting with family, and having a close net family of friends since my family does not live nearby.  I also enjoy art, eating out, cooking, and riding horses.

School Expectations:

We have implemented new school expectations this year:

1.  Show respect and good manners at all time.

2.    Care for everyone and everything.

We thank you in advance for supporting us in implementing these expectations.
