Dear Parents,
I want you to know how excited I am to be teaching your child. I would also like to thank you for sharing your child with me. I would like to tell you a little about myself, and let you know I am looking forward to great year.
I grew up in Van Alstyne as Sharron Offill. Some of you may know my neices Bailey and Hunter Offill. I also have a neice in school named Marla Brown. I have three brothers and one sister. All but one of us still live in Van Alstyne. I have two sons, Brad and Blake. Brad lost his live August 4, 2007 at the age of 26; however, he lives daily in our hearts. Blake is 23 and is currently working at Buffalo Wild Wings in McKinney. He's taking a break from school but hopes to finish his degree in Business Management. I received my Bachelor's and Master's degree from East Texas State University, This is my 33rd year to teach. I taught third grade for 7 years, I coached basketball and track and taught P.E. for one year, and the remaining years have been in kindergarten. All 33 years have been in the
Van Alstyne School District. There is no better place to live or attend school than Van Alstyne. I have great pride in my town and school, and I truly love being a teacher. My hobbies are reading, getting together with my family, watching sports, and going to the movies with friends. I'm a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoy singing in the church choir.
Once again, I want you to know I'm looking forward to a great year. By the end of the year, you will be amazed at how much your child has learned, grown, and matured.
