ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Our family moved to Van Alstyne over 10 years ago and we are so glad we did!  We love living here and wish we had moved here sooner.  This is my 11th year to teach at VAE, mostly in 2nd grade, but I also spent a few years teaching 1st grade.  Before that I taught for 4 years in Allen, working in Title 1 Math and 4th grade. I spent quite a few years at home with my young sons.  I also spent several years teaching preschool at Children's Creative Playday.

My husband David and I are both graduates of Allen High School and our parents still live in Allen.  My family is from  Southern Oklahoma, but we moved frequently(my husband says I've lived in every small town there is in Oklahoma!).  I was born in Claremore, OK and didn't move to Texas until I started 3rd grade in Plano.  We also lived in Seymour, TX for several years before we settled in Allen. I am a graduate of East Texas Baptist College and Texas Woman's University. 

 My husband David works for Plano Fire Department.  Both of our sons are now graduates of VAHS.  Jordan works for GCEC and Wesley is a sophomore at Texas A & M.

I have many hobbies including music, reading, travel and playing with my cat Daisy.  Every September we host college students from the Main Fire School in Warsaw, Poland.  We really enjoy getting to know them and showing them around the area.  We love letting them experience a little American hospitality and a Dublin Dr. Pepper.  This is our 7th year!
